Recently, Xense Robotics Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. completed a financing round exceeding RMB 100 million. This round was strategically invested by a top embodied intelligence industry player and Jide Electric, with co-investment from Tianji Capital.
The funds will be focused on three major directions: accelerating the industrialization of high-precision three-color-light visuo-tactile sensors; advancing the deployment and validation of visuo-tactile data collection devices and large-scale tactile datasets in real scenarios; and continuously improving physical intelligence models natively supporting touch and contact modalities, accelerating their application and transformation in key embodied intelligence tasks.
From "Seeing the World" to "Contacting the World"
When robots enter real scenarios such as factories, warehouses, retail and homes, relying solely on vision and language is not enough to complete complex manipulations.
Micro deviations in precision assembly, deformation when grasping flexible objects, contact pressure in grinding and inspection, and force control when handling fragile items all require the robot to understand: what it touched, how much force it applied, whether slip occurred, and how to adjust next.
Touch is becoming a critical capability for embodied intelligence to move from demonstration to usability, and from usability to reliability.
Advancing Application Validation in Real Scenarios
Currently, Xense Robotics is advancing validation and applications in scenarios including embodied dexterous manipulation, industrial precision assembly, tactile inspection, flexible logistics and home intelligent agents, having served more than 300 leading industry customers.
In tasks such as precision assembly, quality inspection, flexible object manipulation and human-robot collaboration, accurate perception of contact state will directly affect task stability, yield rate, safety and generalization capability.
After this financing round, Xense Robotics will continue investing in the R&D and industrialization of tactile perception, tactile data and tactile intelligence models, advancing robots from "seeing, hearing and planning" toward "contacting, manipulating and completing tasks."
